Electronics and Communication Engineering

This is the backbone of the IT industry. A course in Electronics and Communication Engineering provides enormous job opportunities in electronics and software companies. All electronic devices need software interface to run and they come with one or other device controlling programmes architected and developed by electronics and communication engineers. It also gives great opportunities for research and development, as everyday, consumers need new devices to support them in daily life. The students are trained in programme techniques, data structure, operating systems, computer graphics, digital signal processing, advanced microprocessors, microwave engineering, embedded systems etc.

The biggest employment opportunities for EC Engineers are in the new computer related fields like Hardware and Networking and in the Telecom Sector. These engineers get placements in central government, state governments and their sponsored corporations in public sector and in all wings of armed forces and also in the private organizations. e.g. Indian Engineering Service (IES), Indian Telephone Industries, BSNL / MTNL, Semiconductor-Chip Design Industries (Motorola , IBM, HP STM, Philips, IT etc), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (HPCL / BPCL / IPCL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Civil Aviation Department, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL),Power Sector (NTPC / NHPC Ltd.), Bharat Electronics Limited, Indian Railways, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, ISRO and Software Industries (all MNCs).

  • PSO 1: Graduates will be able to apply fundamentals of electronics in various domains of analog and digital systems.
  • PSO 2: Design and analyze various functional elements of different modes of communication systems and signal processing.
  • PSO 3: Demonstrate and implement variety of automation system by controlling, processing different signals according to the required specifications keeping in mind it’s societal and environment effect.
