The AKM (Abdulla Kunju Memorial) Polytechnic College was established in the year 2020 by Fathima Memorial Educational Trust, Vadakkevila, Kollam-10. AKM Polytechnic College is a Self financing College in the private sector, recognised by Govt. of Kerala and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. AKM Polytechnic College is affiliated to State Board of Technical Education, Kerala. The College offers Diploma program in Engineering with international standards. The college is only 10 kilometers away from Kollam Railway station, 11 kilometers away from Kollam Bus Stand, 60 kilometers from the International Airport, Thiruvananthapuram and walkable distance from Kannanalloor bus stop. We are committed in promoting and propogating quality and value based education at par with international standards. The College is well set to bring out competent quality engineers.

Highlights
College Library
A Computerised library with more than 11,000 books, printed journals, e-journals and magazines from the various engineering disciplines is functioning in the campus. The library is a member of DELNET (Developing Library Networks).
Computer Center
The Campus is well equipped with air-conditioned Computer Centre. The Computer Centre has UTM appliances to which intelligent terminals are connected through AT&T three-layered structured cabling. The computer centre also provides Wi-Fi connectivity on the campus.
Arts And Sports
The institution provides importance to extra curricular activities like sports and arts events. The institute has a vast lush green playfield. The largest playground among technical campus in kollam district. In this area, the playground has 400 meters athletic track, football ground, volleyball and badminton court.
Hostel And Canteen
Seperate hostel facilities for boys and girls have been provided. Well furnished rooms are provided with all the amenities for the students. The college has a canteen for providing fresh and hygienic food items to students.
Placement Cell
A placement cell is functioning at AKM Polytechnic College which comprises of expert academicians and well experienced industrial experts to assist the students in getting placement in reputed firms.
Scholarships
Scholarships upto 100 percentage of fees will be provided for meritorious students under the schemes namely, C. H. Muhammed Koya Memorial Scholarship, Merit Scholarships, etc.
NSS
The unit number 648 of the NSS is functions in the college providing social welfare and charity activities in and outside the campus.
