About Us
The AKM (Abdulla Kunju Memorial) Polytechnic College is a Premium self-financing Polytechnic College under the patronage of the Fathima Memorial Educational Trust, sanctioned by the Government of Kerala and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, opened its portals to the students in the year 2020. The College is affiliated to State Board of Technical Education, Kerala.
Location
The AKM Polytechnic College, Kannanalloor, is situated in the heart of the town of Kannanalloor and yet is set away from the hustle and bustle of the town, amidst scenic surroundings which provide the right ambience for the students. The college borders the Kollam-Kulathupuzha state highway which passes through Kannanalloor town. Kottiyam junction which is on the NH 47 (now NH 66) is only four kilometers south of Kannanalloor junction. The Kollam – Theni NH 208 (now NH 744) lies eight kilometers in the northward direction which meets at Kundara Jn. The college is only 10 kilometers away from Kollam Railway station, 11 kilometers away from Kollam Bus Stand and 60 kilometers from the International Airport, Thiruvananthapuram. The college is well served by private buses and state owned transport buses. In fact, it is easily accessible from all directions.
The unique feature of this college is its superb panorama set in a natural environment. The tributary of the Ithikkara River flows along the western side of the college. On the southern and eastern sides, it is surrounded by verdant hillocks. The college is situated in an area of thirteen acres of land and therefore there will be no constraints whatsoever in the developmental activities of the college.
